My Dreams were gold
and they would never be sold
The skies were always the clearest blue
my hopes were real, but now I feel
reality has broken through
I thought I would always have time
I felt my life was a rhyme
but now the skies have turned cloudy and gray
I lost hold of my dreams and now how funny it seems
I thought they just would be handed my way
It feels like the older my life gets
The faster it slips
Each new day just brings home the night
The candles been burned, but yet I still yearn
To reach for whats now out of sight
Maybe I will stop writing for now
and hope the answers will be found
on the journey's I take while I pray.
I will look for the light and I'll hold on so tight
To any guidance you send my way
Now Days have went past
Since I've talked to you last and inside I feel like a fool
My answers have been found in whats always been around
All I needed was you.
You showed me that dreams of past light
May no longer feel right
And now I understand why
My dreams have just changed, and that no longer seems strange
In this world I will never fly
My dreams truly were gold

But now I'm living the dream of a man
My family is at home, and tonight I will show
They they are what I have had planned
Happiness is what I sought
Fame and fortune, I never got
All the while my life feels richer than gold
My wife and children are my pleasure, my priceless treasure
Thank you God for letting me know.
