| What does pain mean to you? Does pain mean how it feels when a hammer meets your thumb? Does pain mean the memories that you can’t let go? How about when you watched your life fade away……. What happened? Where did it go? To me, pain means loss Loss of life, loss of body, loss of soul When my time comes, will I lose my dignity? When the pain sets in, will I beg to go? I’m hoping that I have some time to question life. Why am I here, and what will come of me? Will I be a lonesome handful of dust? In the end will I feel free? I started out my life with very few questions. Now, I have more than I can say… Confusion will be my final thought… Who, why, and in what way?? |
